Matt Heywood, accountant in the Basingstoke area
Hello. I'm Matt Heywood, a chartered accountant with over 30 years' experience working with a wide variety of clients. I began my career in Somerset with Robson Rhodes working with farmers, shopkeepers and other larger local businesses, preparing their accounts, completing statutory returns and preparing their tax computations. A move to London gave me the opportunity to gain my professional qualification with BDO Stoy Hayward where I worked mostly with small to medium sized enterprises in the manufacturing, property, professional practices and retail sectors, supporting them on audit, accounting and tax matters. It was here I began to build my specialism in occupational pension schemes. Having moved to Hampshire I joined PwC (PricewaterhouseCoopers) in Reading. There I continued to work with a variety of companies and latterly led a team providing assurance services to 100 occupational (trust based) pension schemes in the Thames Valley, South Coast and London areas working closely with pension trustees, pension managers and their administration teams, actuaries, investment managers and other advisers.
